Dinner for 50

As more and more people continue to filter through Crawford one thing we all pride ourselves on is being able to provide meals and snacks for everyone around. Food is everywhere and snacks are hanging on the walls (practically). The key to all this is the people showing up with bundles of food and drink, willing to donate it. Everyone has more than enough food and I have yet to leave a meal still hungry. We had the best apple pie and cheesecake the other night.

On tonight's menu is a boatload of spaghetti, garlic bread, grilled chicken, ribs, fish, salads and a pan-fried pepper and potato dish. And it's all happening out of the little Crawford Peace House kitchen. The people who are cooking? Volunteers from Colorado, Missouri, Texas and New York have arrived, taken charge and are now cooking for 50+ people. Wow. Gotta love the community that's formed here. It reminds me of the summer barbecues I used to attend as a little tike, only those were a tad smaller in size. Are you barbecuing tonight? Maybe you'd like to have a "Barbecue for Cindy?" Gotta go get some cous cous...
